In a powerful commentary published in Politico, Gary Kasparov, former world chess champion and public advocate for democracy, and Gabrielius Landsbergis, member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and former Lithuanian foreign minister, highlighted the European Union’s current ineffectiveness on the world stage (August 3, 2025).

The Temple Institute in Israel confirmed that all five red heifers flown to the Holy Land from Texas have been disqualified for Temple purification rites (Israel 365 News, August 6, 2025). According to Numbers 19, only a “flawless” red heifer—without blemish and never yoked—can be sacrificed to produce the ashes required for ritual cleansing. This purification is considered essential before Temple worship or sacrifices can resume.

In a recent proposal, President Donald Trump signaled willingness to recognize all Russian-held Ukrainian territories in exchange for Ukraine’s neutrality (Politico, August 11, 2025).

Over the past century, the United States has replenished more than 818 miles of coastline with new sand—a monumental effort to counter the natural erosion of coastlines caused by waves, tides, and storms (American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, August 2019). This repair practice, known as “beach nourishment,” has placed nearly 1.5 billion cubic yards of sand along the U.S.

For several decades, Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought over a disputed region in the Caucasus Mountains. Although numerous attempts at peace have been made, none have succeeded (EuroNews, August 8, 2025). Now, through a deal brokered by the United States, both parties are excited about a future peace between their two nations.
