Neo-Nazis and Football Hooligans Unite

“The riots in Cologne at the end of October show there is a new danger on Germany’s extremist right. Neo-Nazis and football hooligans have teamed up to go after Islamist Salafists”—right under the noses of the German government and law enforcement (Der Spiegel, November 4, 2014).

Germany—The World’s Favorite Country

“Germany, it appears, is the most respected country in the world. According to the Nation Brands Index, Germany deposed the hitherto reigning champion [for five years], the Unites (sic) States” (Reuters, November 17, 2014). “People around the world now have more positive perceptions of Germany than of 49 other developed and developing countries, according to the annual NBISM study.

Keys to Developing Christian Womanhood

In today’s world, modern womanhood has become a path with ever-increasing obstacles and confusion. As advocates of various agendas voice their opinions on what women should be like and how they should act, they fail to seek God’s judgment in the matter—and usually, they ridicule the thought of even considering God’s judgment. Modern women try to implement these various ideas, only to find themselves frustrated and unfulfilled. Thankfully, God understands exactly what women need and outlines the truth in His word.

Worth It

I was recently given the opportunity to do some hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains. We had decided we wanted to see Rainbow Falls, which boasted of dazzling rainbows if you were fortunate to be there as the sunlight hits the water cascading from a high drop.

The trail map claimed the trail we needed to take was only 2.7 miles long one way, and it was labeled as “strenuous.” I scoffed; my weekly trips to my air-conditioned local gym for my 30-minute jog on the treadmill had surely prepared me for this moment. Strenuous was nothing! A little bit of stretching and we were off!

Spots and Wrinkles

On washday, despite all the modern conveniences available, some of us who do laundry still do not use a mechanical dryer. For one reason or another, we prefer to hang it out on a line to dry.

That is the end of a busy process. Before washing, we check the laundry over for spots and, where possible, treat them beforehand. We add detergent, sometimes bleach, to lift dirt and brighten the laundry. Then it is agitated to ensure that our clothing gets as clean as possible.
