“Iran reportedly test-fired two ballistic missiles Wednesday with the phrase ‘Israel must be wiped out’ written on them, a show of force by the Islamic Republic as U.S. Vice President Joe Biden visited Israel” (Time, March 9, 2016). A leader in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stated, “The 2,000-kilometer (1,240-mile) range of our missiles is to confront the Zionist regime… Israel is surrounded by Islamic countries and it will not last long in a war.

As the pope pushes Europe to “recover its spiritual roots” (CatholicCulture.org, March 2, 2016), “The German chancellor has refused to back down under mounting pressure to reverse course on the refugee crisis. Campaigning on behalf of her party, she said it’s time for Germany to broaden its international role” (Deutsche Welle, March 2, 2016).

In 2016, American psychiatrist and distinguished professor at Johns Hopkins University Dr. Paul McHugh wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal titled, “A New Semester, a New Approach to Campus Turmoil.” Though he may not have realized it, Dr. McHugh touched on an important Biblical principle, as he covered the story of a Yale professor coming under fire for what some considered racially provocative comments.

Wanting to be helpful to others is a wonderful characteristic. When God created the first woman, He designed her to be a “helper” (Genesis 2:18). But, being a profitable helper takes some humility, insight, communication, and wisdom.

Easter is coming, and if you are like many Christians, you are probably excited! If so, you might want to reconsider this “holiday.” In fact, you might just be worshiping someone other than Jesus Christ, without even knowing it!
