When atheist Darren Aronofsky’s movie Noah debuted this past week, many observers expected it to be biblically inaccurate, irresponsibly “creative” and filled with the promotion of trendy secular values. Few, however, expected the movie to be what amounts to a propaganda piece for the Devil himself.  Yet, hard as this may be to believe, that is exactly what the movie represents!

The Bible contains many warnings against an abhorrent practice of the Canaanites, who had previously possessed the land God gave to Israel. One such admonition: “You shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech” (Leviticus 18:21). “Passing through the fire” was an abominable practice in which people sought to appease the heathen god Molech and seek his benefit by sacrificing their own children by fire.

Who would have thought that this ancient heathen deity would so plainly rear his head in modern-day Britain?

When science-advocate Bill Nye faced off in debate Tuesday night against Ken Ham, CEO of Answers in Genesis, the issue of creationism vs. evolution gained a rare degree of media scrutiny. Nye had called the teaching of creationism “a dangerous choice,” and promoters saw the opportunity for a profitable public event. Certainly much attention came to the subject. But, amid all the controversy, was there something that both participants missed?
