After years as a Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles County, Tony Miano became a full-time preacher. Recently he was arrested for “hate speech” after a sermon preached on the streets of London (Telegraph, July 4, 2013). The sermon cited actions God labels sins, including homosexuality.

After almost two years of “democratic rule,” Egypt is again in turmoil. Last week, the military forced President Mohammed Morsi out of office and installed an interim government (Telegraph.co.uk, July 8, 2013). On Monday, 51 people were killed as the military apparently opened fire on a crowd allegedly trying to storm a barracks where Mr. Morsi may have been held.

“Britain may allow a controversial technique to create babies using DNA from a mother, father, and a donor” in order to help prevent the spread of rare genetic diseases (Associated Press, June 28, 2013; Telegraph, June 28, 2013).

The Israelite-descended Netherlands is one of the EU’s six founding members. Yet, the Netherlands is now criticizing the EU for its “creeping powers”—amassing power to itself while eroding national sovereignty of member nations (EU Observer, June 22, 2013).
