America is indeed a nation of immigrants, but the trend of mass population movements is not unique to the United States.

Why flooding and drought?



On this mid-August morning, as I'm writing, I can look out my home-office window and see dead yellow leaves falling from the trees in the yard. That's not supposed to happen in North Carolina until late September or October!

Who will feed us?



The pitiful image of a character with a long beard and dusty monk's robe, pacing the streets with a sign that reads, "Repent, the end is near! Flee from the wrath to come!" is not as laughable as it used to be.

What do you fear?



We are living in frightening times. Events taking place in our world today give people many reasons to be fearful.

Our end-time generation faces the prospect of imminent calamities, on a global scale, unlike anything mankind has seen before in all of history. "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened" (Matthew 24:21-22).

Emergency Rooms in Crisis



Hospital emergency rooms all across the United States are in crisis, according to a National Public Radio segment aired on June 15, 2006. In many overcrowded emergency rooms, sick and injured people not in imminent danger of death may sometimes await treatment for hours – or even days. What is the cause of this problem, and what should you be doing to prepare for a health emergency?
